WASHINGTON (TND) — Congress gets back to business in Washington next week and things could start with a bang as Dr. Anthony Fauci is expected to testify in front of lawmakers. It could turn into a grilling about transparency and the origins of COVID-19. Fauci will have been out of government for almost a year and a half when he appears before Congress next week, but he’s not off the GOP's radar.

Shooting suspect chased down by neighbor in Kentucky, police say

ALEXANDRIA, Ky. (WKRC) — A man was shot in the head three times at his home in Kentucky and his neighbor tracked down the suspected shooter, according to authorities. Police said the man was shot in his driveway on Friday at 8 p.m. His wife heard the gunshots and looked out the window to see a white pickup truck with "CWL" on the side. She called for help. A neighbor said he heard the shots and screaming.

Stowaway scorpion stings Pennsylvania man after vacation

WARMINSTER -- A Pennsylvania man is recovering after he was stung by a scorpion that somehow got into his backpack while he was on vacation in the Caribbean. The 22-year-old Warminster resident had returned home from St. Thomas and reached into the pack to get his computer when he was stung. Buddy Mullen of A-1 Exterminators tells WPVI-TV in Philadelphia the scorpion disappeared in the man's bedroom. Mullen's team flipped the sheets and the scorpion fell to the floor.

Suspect sought after Giant Eagle robbery

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — Police are searching for a man they believe robbed a Giant Eagle in Johnstown. Johnstown police responded to the supermarket along Broad Street and Fairfield Avenue just before 2 p.m. Monday. Police said a man walked up to a cashier, placed something against his back and demanded all the $20 bills in the register. Officers said the suspect is a white man with a beard. He was wearing a navy jacket, black hat and jeans at the time of the robbery.

'Extremely disheartened' local students misinformed about singing with Foreigner band

The song ‘I want to know what love is’ by the 70’s band foreigner *was* the one that Central Cambria High School music students thought they were going to sing. Only to realize that an error, which officials say was made by another promoter was to blame. This roughly a week after Conemaugh Township High School choir students were told they will be singing with the band for one song.

19-year-old Israeli solider killed in Hamas custody after chilling hostage video

GAZA STRIP (TND) — A 19-year-old Israeli woman has been killed in Hamas terrorist custody, according to a video released Monday by the terrorist organization. The killing of Corporal Noa Marciano was confirmed Tuesday by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), which released a statement mourning the loss of one of its own. “Our hearts are with the Marciano family whose daughter, Noa, was brutally kidnapped by the Hamas terrorist organization,” the IDF stated, according to the Jerusalem Post.

Boswell man charged in Ligonier Township crash that killed bicyclist

LIGONIER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WJAC) — Police say a Boswell man was driving under the influence when his vehicle hit and killed a bicyclist in Westmoreland County in 2019. The Ligonier Valley Police Department have filed charges against 42-year-old Adam Ulrich related to the fatal crash that happened the morning of Oct. 1, 2019. Ulrich faces charges related to homicide by vehicle while DUI, according to a criminal complaint. Police say they were called to Route 30 a little after 9 a.
