Tuesday morning, he performed in Cambia County in hopes of inspiring people through his music and message.
Students from four Cambria County schools packed the pews at Holy Name Catholic Church in Ebensburg to hear Melendez sing and play his guitar in an unlikely way -- with his feet.
CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — The Greater Johnstown School District and community is remembering a teenager who tragically passed away following a drowning accident at a local hotel pool.
According to Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees, 18-year-old Tahjmir Seeney was pronounced dead Tuesday morning in the Intensive Care Unit at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.
Officials say the accident happened Sunday, just before noon, at the Holiday Inn in downtown Johnstown.
Pittsburgh (WJAC) — According to multiple reports, the Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly finalizing a deal to retain defensive coordinator Teryl Austin.
Austin's new contract would reportedly be for two years, according to ESPN NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler.
Austin was hired by the Steelers in 2019 after previously serving as the DC for the Detroit Lions and the Cincinnati Bengals.
During his tenure as the Steelers defensive coordinator, Pittsburgh has had the 6th ranked scoring defense in the NFL.

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Edward Shames, a World War II veteran who was the last surviving officer of “Easy Company,” which inspired the HBO miniseries and book “Band of Brothers,” has died. He was 99.
An obituary posted by the Holomon-Brown Funeral Home & Crematory said Shames, of Norfolk, Virginia, died peacefully at his home on Friday.
Shames was involved in some of the most important battles of World War II.

A plane landed Wednesday on Highway 501 in the Carolina Forest area due to engine failure, according to audio obtained from LiveATC.net. ABC15 listened to the live Air Traffic Control net audio between the tower and the pilot before the plane landed. The audio revealed the pilot said he had engine failure and he was going to land on the highway.

Wide-receiver Ryan Switzer was the most notable player that the Steelers released.

2nd UPDATE |JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Jefferson County coroner Brenda Shumaker has identified the victim of Tuesday's fatal crash along Route 219 in Washington Township, Jefferson County.
Shumaker says 68-year-old Barbera Lundberg reportedly suffered a medical emergency prior to losing control of her vehicle and crossing into the opposite lane of travel.
Police say Lundberg's vehicle collided with a pickup truck that was hauling Porta-Johns.
Lundberg was pronounced dead at the scene.
