Small bag with 'cocaine' found in a hallway at the US Capitol Police Headquarters

WASHINGTON (7News) — A small zip-lock bag filled with a substance that field tested positive as cocaine was found inside a heavily trafficked area of the U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) Headquarters, according to a statement from the agency. Officials said they are looking to find out why the one-inch by one-inch bag was found in a second-floor hallway at around 1 p.m. Wednesday. USCP said they will perform DNA and other forms of testing on the baggie.

Bilger's Rocks Association to build educational visitor center

GRAMPIAN - A Clearfield County destination that's millions of years old is adding something new. The Bilger's Rocks Association has plans to remodel one of its cabins into a visitor center. Bilger's Rocks is geological sandstone formations nestled in the woods outside of Grampain. "These rocks are over 325 million years of age and they have a mysterious type of environment for people to come and explore," said association member Terry O'Connor.

House votes to pass bill expanding antisemitism definition as college protests continue

WASHINGTON (TND) — The House voted to pass a bill providing a broader definition of antisemitism in discrimination cases on Wednesday. The vote taking place as college protests have crippled campuses nationwide. The proposal, which passed 320-91 with some bipartisan support, would codify the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’sdefinition of antisemitism in Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, a federal anti-discrimination law that bars discrimination based on shared ancestry, ethnic characteristics or national origin.

Mark Eaton, shot-blocking king and Jazz legend, dies at 64

NBA shot-blocking king and Utah Jazz legend Mark Eaton has died. He was 64. ESPN reported that Eaton died as a result of a bicycle crash. The 7-foot-4 center twice won the NBA defensive player of the year award. He spent his entire career with the Jazz, led the league in blocks per game four times and his average of 5.6 per contest in 1984-85 remains the highest average since the NBA started officially tracking that statistic.

Nanty Glo Conemaugh Ebandjieff Clinic to 'reopen this year'

Cambria County, PA — Conemaugh Health leaders say work repairing structural issues at the Ebandjieff Clinic in Nanty Glo is underway, and they hope to have it finished later this year. State Rep. Frank Burns holds annual senior fair in Johnstown

Cambria County senior citizens came together for a one stop event for health and well-being. State Representative Frank Burns hosted his annual senior fair Friday at Bottle Works in Johnstown. More than 30 vendors were there providing information on various services and state-related programs, including healthcare, tax and rent rebates as well as unclaimed property. Communities prep for April 8th solar eclipse

WJAC — Local leaders say the impacts of the solar eclipse April 8th, reach both nationally and locally, including in schools. “We felt mostly a safety issue, to allow students, staff, and bus drivers to get off the road, during the solar eclipse.” says Bald Eagle Area School District superintendent, Curt Whitesel. Hooversville man accused of sexually assaulting teen while she slept

SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — State police in Somerset County say a Hooversville man is behind bars following an investigation into allegations that he sexually assaulted a teenage girl. Police say in February, troopers were contacted to investigate reports of sexual abuse at a residence along Maple Avenue, in Hooversville Borough. Investigators say the victim, a 13-year-old girl, told troopers that she was staying at the home of a relative and was repeatedly assaulted by the relative's boyfriend, identified as 27-year-old Travis Taresco.

Johnsonburg community center to reopen on Monday

JOHNSONBURG, Pa (WJAC) — The Johnsonburg Community Center is reopening Monday. Volunteers are cleaning and sanitizing the entire Elk County facility in preparation for the reopening. All of the facility's amenities will be available, except for the indoor swimming pool. The community center has been a Johnsonburg staple for 100 years. One volunteer explained what the center means to him. "I think this is the heart of their soul. This is about the only thing they have left in this town that they can use.
