Kenny Pickett receives team ROTY award

Pittsburgh (WJAC) — The Pittsburgh Steelers announced earlier this week that quarterback Kenny Pickett won the "Joe Greene Great Performance Award" as the team's Rookie of the Year. The award was established in 1984 and is presented to the team's top rookie performer at the end of each season. Pickett became just the third Steelers' QB to win the award, joining Kordell Stewart and Ben Roethlisberger. "It's a huge honor," said Pickett.

Man found guilty in four-year-old shooting case, but another trial looms

EBENSBURG, Pa. — After nearly four years of waiting and a two-day trial, a Cambria County jury found Keith Reed guilty of conspiracy to commit third-degree murder in the 2014 shooting of Tony Phillips. Reed, one of three defendants charged in the case, was accused of setting up Phillips to be shot by Joshua Cambric, who was also charged. Reed was found not guilty of being an accomplice to first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, which are more serious charges, although third degree can carry more than 20 years in prison.

Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Altoona Police Department have charged a local man after he was accused of inappropriately filming a young child over the weekend. According to the affidavit, police say 24-year-old Nasir Garner had reportedly visited an apartment, located along East Walnut Avenue, on Sunday to do laundry. Police say while he was visiting, Garner reportedly began playing hide-and-seek with the two young children, ages 3 and 5, who live at the residence.

ROCKWOOD, Pa. — A Somerset County man is facing criminal charges after police say they searched his farm and found 55 marijuana plants tucked away in a cornfield along with two moonshine stills and 144 sealed mason jars of possible moonshine, according to a police affidavit. Miller died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on April 27 at the Lumber River State Park in Robeson County, North Carolina.
