Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities in Centre County say a workshop in the Potters Mills area burned to the ground Monday afternoon after being struck by lightning. Officials say as severe weather was moving through the area, a lightning strike reportedly started a fire at a building along McClellan Lane. Investigators say multiple area fire departments were called to extinguish the blaze. No injuries were reported in the fire, according to fire officials.

Sixth person dies from injuries suffered in Pennsylvania house explosion

PLUM, Pa. (AP) — The co-owner of a home that exploded in western Pennsylvania last weekend has died from injuries he suffered in the blast, which also killed his wife and four other people. Paul Oravitz, 56, who had severe burns over most of his body, died Wednesday in a Pittsburgh hospital, four days after the explosion in Plum. The town is about 20 miles east of Pittsburgh. The cause of the blast - which destroyed three structures and damaged at least a dozen others - remains under investigation, but officials have said Oravitz and his wife, Heather, were having issues with their hot water tank.

Mica Miller restraining order request details harassment, stalking allegations

(WPDE) — ABC15 News has obtained new documents relating to the Mica Miller case through the Freedom of Information Act that detail allegations of harassment and stalking that Mica reported to authorities about her estranged husband, John-Paul Miller. The Robeson County Medical Examiner confirmed Mica died by suicide from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on April 27, 2024. The month before she died, Mica filed multiple police reports with Horry County Police and Myrtle Beach Police for alleged stalking and harassment incidents involving John-Paul.
